What is L-Taurine?
L-Taurine is a naturally occuring amino acids and amino sulfonic that is found in high concentrations in the white blood cells, skeletal muscles, brain cells and heart muscles. L-Taurine plays a prominent role in cell volumising, resulting in higher rates of protein synthesis as well as an increased appearance of muscle fullness. This can help draw additional nutrients into the muscle which can aid recovery and growth. It has also been shown to increase glucose into cells.
It has been suggested that L-Taurine may play a useful role in supporting a variety of processes, including:
- Protein Synthesis*
- Cell Hydration*
- Cardiac Function*
Does L-Taurine Have Any Side Effects?
No significant l-taurine side effect or risks have been reported in the medical literature.
L-Taurine is popular among many health enthusiasts due to being a potent antioxidant. This means that it can combat 'free radicals' lose in the body which are responsible for the cell damage that causes visible aging and in some cases cance. It has also been shown to help prevent heart disease and other problems, and is also able to prevent the aggregation of platelets. In other words this means it can prevent platelets from sticking together which can cause a blood clot and stroke.
